Who Should Attend?

This webinar is designed for the academic community, including (but not limited to) professors, students, Ph.D. students, and researchers interested in simulation and data exploration. The event is geared for attendees from host of domains, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic engineering, data science, and more.

How Students and Instructors Can Benefit from Altair’s Global Academic Program - Jim Ryan

This session will start with Altair’s high-level philosophy for supporting learners and teachers at universities. Then it will demonstrate how students can use Altair software for projects and competitions, learning useful skills in the process that will prepare them to hit the ground running when they take jobs in industry. Faculty instructors can also help students learn engineering and data science concepts more effectively by using Altair’s software to complement the theory they want students to learn in their courses.

Set Up Simulations and Optimize Structural Parts Using Altair® HyperMesh® and Altair® OptiStruct® Solvers* - Ioannis Miliopoulos

In this session, attendees will learn how to set up a basic model in the new HyperMesh GUI to help participants familiarize themselves with HyperMesh’s basic functionalities, such as model manipulation, meshing, and solver deck creation. The solver will be OptiStruct, Altair's industry-proven finite element (FE) solver. The demonstration will be a topology optimization run and the post-processing in Altair® HyperView® to understand load paths and optimal material distribution across the design space.

Leverage Altair's Revolutionary Structural Analysis Solver Altair SimSolid® and Altair® Inspire™ Platform to Design and Optimize Parts Faster* - Evangelos Apostolakis and Panagiotis Natsiavas

In this session, the presenters will perform a structural analysis and topology optimization of a moving part as a follow up to help participants get familiar with Inspire's basic functionalities. Then, they’ll perform a demonstration of SimSolid's capabilities – Altair’s revolutionary meshless solver for rapid structural analysis.

Introduction to Crash Analysis with Altair® Radioss® - Pierre Christophe Masson

Radioss is used throughout industry due to its advanced algorithms, high degree of accuracy, and scalability to run on high-performance computing (HPC) systems. In this session, attendees will see an introduction to the explicit dynamic simulation which can be used for crash safety or drop test analysis.

CFD Simulations* - Giorgos Giannakouros

Dive into the world of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with Altair® HyperMesh® CFD.  Explore the limitless possibilities of CFD simulations to optimize designs, predict performance, and unlock innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.

Introduction to Systems Integration and Leveraging AI in Simulations* - Spyros Foivos Mallios

Engineering a new product involves combining systems from different disciplines and understanding how those interact together. In this session, learn how to simulate complete systems and discover how AI can speed up the design process.

Intro to Multibody Dynamics and Control Systems Applied Within Vehicles* - Spyros Foivos Mallios

Learn how simulation can help users understand and maximize vehicle performance, extract realistic loads to minimize component weight, and design smart control systems.

Simulation for Antenna Design and Performance Analysis of Communication Systems with Altair® Feko® - Zeina El Ahdab and Torben Voigt

Having a robust, reliable communication system is crucial for different applications. Whether you’re interested in designing different parts of your systems or assessing the performance of an existing one, Altair’s electromagnetic suite can help you achieve your goals.

Simulation for Electrification - Nikos Dimitrakopoulos, Letizia Ferrara, and Marek Jableka

Altair and its portfolio of electrical design solutions are changing the way electric systems are designed. Leveraging Altair® FluxMotor®, Altair® PSIM®, and Altair® PollEx™, you can unify motor and control simulations for better system performance, elevate energy efficiency, and delve into printed circuit board (PCB)-level analysis.

Altair® FluxMotor®: Accelerate electrical machine design, considering the cooling, NVH performances, and the full drive thanks to the standard FMU export feature.

Altair® PSIM®: Simplify power electronics design, optimize component selection, and delve into motor control design. Link to a FluxMotor model and uncover the impact of harmonics on thermal losses and motor performance.

Altair® PollEx™: Focus on PCB analysis, mainly on the power distribution network, to enable current delivery for power components and identify hot spots in the product and avoid overheating.

Data Mining with Altair RapidMiner – Joseph Roy

Learn how Altair® RapidMiner’s® versatile capabilities can enhance decision-making through data science and analytics, and discover its applications into various fields like engineering, business, finance, science, and healthcare.
