Welcome to the New Altair Aerospace Coffee Break Series!
Learn and Explore on Your Coffee Break with Altair's Experts
This complimentary series is comprised of 30-minute online demonstrations covering Altair's solutions, starting with our structural model building technology, Altair HyperMesh, giving users unparalleled meshing control, unmatched performance and limitless scale. From there, we will expand into structural optimization, electromagnetic simulation, data analytics, AI powered engineering, computation fluid dynamics (CFD), multi-physics, and more.
Each demonstration will be conducted by Altair's aerospace and defense technical experts, who combine a vast array of industry experience with input from Altair's development teams, providing unparalleled insight into the present and future of aerospace simulation and analysis.
The series is offered at NO COST to all members of the aerospace community interested in learning more about Altair's solutions, with all sessions made available to re-watch on Altair's YouTube channel.

Contacts
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration, we will discuss workflows and tips for defining contacting surfaces manually and automatically based on a search tolerance. We will also go over some of the formulation options for contacts to ensure correct property formulation and to minimize errors.

Tet Meshing and Mesh Controls
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration, we will overview the Skeleton Modeling process in HyperMesh for creating reduced order models to facilitate concept level optimization or for general model building purposes, by breaking a model down into joints, members, and panels.

HyperMesh Mesh Morphing
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration, we will delve into the HyperMesh Morphing workflow of tools for reshaping an existing mesh without having to recreate the mesh from scratch while using interpolation methods to maintain mesh quality and flow. Users will see how adjusting an existing mesh to fit to a new part design, without having to reapply boundary conditions, can save analysts tons of time.

HyperMesh 1D Beam Meshing
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration, we will explore the process of generating 1D “beam” elements in HyperMesh. We will explore 1D creation, orienting, offsetting, and section generation from preset cross section shapes and cross sections generated from the source CAD representing the beam.

HyperMesh Mesh Editing
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration we will look at HyperMesh’s tools for unbeatable levels of manual mesh editing and custom refinement.

HyperMesh Connectors
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration, we will look at the workflow and process for generating connecting elements in bulk in HyperMesh. Change element configurations easily, bulk realizing and unrealizing for part replacement, review connections, and more aspects of the HyperMesh connector workflow will be explored.

Midmeshing in HyperMesh
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration we will look at the midmeshing process for automatically generating a mesh at the midplane location of a part, directly from the input geometry (components, elements, solids or surfaces), without first creating a midsurface, saving significant time over the traditional midsurface-based approach.

HyperMesh Midsurfacing and Mapping Thickness
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration we will look at the process for generating a midsurface from some solid source geometry and how to automatically assign thicknesses to the surface mesh, based on the source geometry.

HyperMesh Geometry Editing
Watch- On-Demand
In this demonstration we will look at the various tools for editing geometry to better aid with meshing in Altair HyperMesh.

HyperMesh Hex Meshing
Watch On-Demand
In this demonstration we will look at tips and tricks for generating 3D hexagonal meshes in Altair HyperMesh.

HyperMesh Geometry Import and Cleanup

Exploring HyperMesh's New User Interface
In this demonstration we will look at the new ribbon-based HyperMesh interface layout. This will be helpful for users who are still using, or transitioning from using, the Classic panel-based HyperMesh layout. Join us to learn more about our improved interface and how you can fine tune the interface to work better for you.

Leveraging HyperMesh Browsers
In this demonstration we will look at the Browser capabilities within HyperMesh. Join us to learn more about entity editing, viewing/editing entity properties in bulk, entity filtering, and much more.

Using the Visualization Toolbar
In this demonstration we will look at the various options HyperMesh has for model visualization. Join us to learn more about visualizing shell thicknesses, laminates by ply, model coloring, section cuts, and much more!
