Integrating Enroot with Altair® PBS Professional®
Video on Demand - Live event held on September 1, 2021
Listen to experts from Altair and NVIDIA to learn how to integrate Enroot with Altair PBS Professional.
Enroot is a simple, yet powerful tool to turn traditional container/OS images into unprivileged sandboxes. It uses the same underlying technologies as containers but removes much of the isolation they inherently provide while preserving filesystem separation. This approach is generally preferred in high-performance environments and virtualized environments where portability and reproducibility are important but extra isolation is not warranted.
Altair® PBS Professional® is a fast, powerful workload manager designed to improve productivity, optimize utilization and efficiency, and simplify administration for clusters, clouds, and supercomputers — from the biggest HPC workloads to millions of small, high throughput jobs. PBS Professional can be integrated with popular container technologies like Docker, Singularity, and Enroot.
HPC experts from Altair and NVIDIA share how customers may use PBS Professional and the Enroot solution to leverage powerful NVIDIA GPUs to advance machine learning, artificial intelligence workloads, and more.
Webinar Agenda
Speakers from Altair and NVIDIA explain:
- Why the integration between PBS Professional and Enroot is important.
- How the integration was setup.
- Finer details of how NGC container images using Enroot runtime works, incl. benefits of the technology, compared to Docker, Singularity, Podman, etc.
Who should watch the webinar?
- Administrator of HPC systems where AI, ML and DL workloads are running and who use PBS Professional to manage this workload.
- HPC administrators who are new to container technology in HPC context.
- HPC administrators of sites where a mix of traditional HPC and modern AI workloads run.
- HPC administrators where NVIDIA GPUs form part of the system.
