In this presentation, we will explain a research case study in which friction condition in cold forging for an Aluminum automobile part were identified using AFDEX and HyperStudy to predict a deformed shape accurately. Using AFDEX, we set a model of Aluminum cold forging process which shows a difference between an experiment and simulated shape. After qualitatively examining the simulation and experimental results, we identified the functional relationship between the friction coefficient and strain which causes the difference between the actual deformation shape and predictions through optimization using HyperStudy.
