Solving Vehicle Electromagnetic and Connectivity Challenges

Webinar Series: May - July 2023

This free to attend webinar series will discuss the latest simulation processes, technologies and best practices to enable you to design, analyze and optimize the electromagnetic and electronic performance of your next vehicle.

Attend and learn how you can optimize antenna placement, significantly reduce costly measurements on the road by adopting virtual test drives to analyze performance in the real environment, rapidly identify and solve system-level EMC issues, ADAS radar strategies for different integration levels, understand the benefits of using machine learning models, and last but not least, learn how to leverage PCB verification for early identification of potential electrical and manufacturing problems on board designs.

Who Should Attend?

This webinar series is ideally suited to Engineers, Team Leaders, Engineering Managers and Directors in the automotive industry working on antennas, communication and navigation systems, EMC, ADAS radars, and PCB design and industrialization, who are required to deliver innovative products with outstanding electromagnetic and connectivity performance in shorter timescales.

Webinar Topics:

Vehicle Antenna Simulation and Optimization

Webinar 1: Vehicle Antenna Simulation and Optimization

Now available to watch on-demand

Webinar 1 covered simulation driven design of vehicle antennas; as well as, antenna and connectivity performance evaluation considering several simulation examples, e.g. 4G/5G, V2X, BT, FM/DAB, keyless-entry applications. During this webinar, there was a special focus on optimization methods to improve antenna design and antenna positions in the vehicle.

Webinar 2: Automotive Antenna Integration and Virtual Test Drive

Now available to watch on-demand

In part 2, antenna integration analysis with numerical simulation was discussed; as well as, typical integration scenarios and challenges such as optimal placement of antennas behind plastic parts. During this webinar, the evaluation of antenna vehicle positions in virtual test drives using propagation models in urban, sub-urban and rural scenarios was also explained.

Webinar 3: Automotive EMC Simulation

Now available to watch on-demand

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) was the focus of part 3, as well as numerical simulation for typical EMC problems, e.g. radiation or crosstalk at cable harnesses, or emissions from electrical power trains. A digital twin for vehicle immunity tests was also presented to better understand the different exposure situations of EMC tests on a component and vehicle level

Webinar 4: Radar, Composites Materials and Machine Learning

Now available to watch on-demand

This webinar focused on advanced topics for electromagnetics. After an overview on radar simulation on different integration levels, the numerical treatment of modern anisotropic composite materials was explained, followed by a discussion on use cases in CEM. Typical antenna and EMC examples were used to illustrate the use of regression, classification, clustering, dimension reduction and evolutionary learning in electromagnetics.

Webinar 5: PCB Verification for Reliable and Safe Automotive Electronics

Now available to watch on-demand

PCB verification was the focus of part 5. PCB verification identifies and suggests corrections early in the design stage. Through verification, users check a pre-prototype layout design against geometrical design requirements and best practices. As an outcome, the risk for product functional, electrical, and assembly issues is reduced.
