ESAComp for composite structures design and verification in the Aerospace Industry

ESAComp is a proven composite design tool in the aerospace industry. The development of ESAComp was initiated by the European Space Agency (ESA/ESTEC), who envisioned open software that combined all necessary composites analysis and design capabilities under one unified user interface. With on-going development ESAComp is now a general tool for people dealing with composites, but never losing sight of its roots and the special needs of the aerospace industry.

This webinar provides an overview on how to use ESAComp to efficiently tackle daily tasks concerning laminate design (incl. handling different environments, strength sets, probabilistic laminate analysis), design of structural elements (e.g. panels), and design verification (application of selected failure criteria and computation of reserve factors or margins of safety). Another focus area will be the ESAComp-HyperWorks post-processing interface and integration into a workflow for optimization.

Webinar Outline

  • What can ESAComp do for you? – Benefits to the Aerospace Industry.
  • Success stories where ESAComp was applied in the design of aerospace structures
  • Introduction to the key features of ESAComp (database, laminate analyses, structural elements)
  • Focus on some advanced features important for aerospace applications
  • Integration of ESAComp into a typical workflow with HyperMesh and HyperView
