WRAP - Efficient Radio Network Planning and Spectrum Management

Radar-Coverage-2D3D-incl-Jammers

WRAP - advanced radio network planning & optimization as well as spectrum management & monitoring - is now part of Altair’s comprehensive software and service offering. Altair acquired WRAP software to further strengthen its connectivity solutions by adding new capabilities in these areas. The tool is now integrated into Altair’s high frequency electromagnetic portfolio, adding functionality to Altair Feko, especially in the areas of efficient frequency management and radio network planning for organizations like public authorities, defense organizations and companies as well as network planners.

Thanks to Altair’s global network and local presence these solutions are now accessible to even more customers. If you are already an Altair customer and using Feko, the WRAP functionalities are already available to you via your Altair Units. Learn more about all updates regarding Feko including the WRAP functionalities as well as the other Altair offerings for radio coverage and network planning in the presentations and documents below.

In the below video and overview presentation we demonstrate how WRAP is profiting from being a part of Altair. To learn more about the latest update on all WRAP functionalities included in the Altair Feko portfolio also download our capabilities overview and watch our product demos and tutorials.

Altair’s portfolio of simulation-driven design solutions covers – amongst many other disciplines – electromagnetics (EM) and electronic design automation (EDA). Some of the latest additions and improvements such as the WRAP functionalities will be presented in the high frequency EM domain for applications like antenna design, antenna placement, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radar cross section (RCS), bio-electromagnetics, wave propagation and network planning. On the EDA side, the session will cover the latest developments for PCB modeling and electronic circuit simulation.

WRAP supports the planning, implementation, and operation phases of systems for microwave point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, broadband wireless access, wireless local loop, analogue and digital sound and television broadcasting, land mobile, mobile telephone, radar, navigation, aeronautical communication, maritime communication, HF communication, satellite links and more. It simulates wireless coverage and enables radio network planning for a building, across a campus, city or a nation. The efficient tools of WRAP provide cost-effective network designs with small manpower efforts.

This presentation provides an overview of the latest WRAP capabilities.

Tutorial: Co-site Interference Analysis using Feko's WRAP Functionalities

Workshop-1

This video is a great tutorial during which you will experience how to perform a co-site interference analysis with Feko and WRAP in a 2-step process. As an example, we are looking into the antenna coupling mounted on an aircraft fuselage.

Feko is used to design, simulate, and optimize antennas. After the determination of radiation patterns and reflection coefficients, and the calculation of S-parameters the Feko results are fed into WRAP to simulate and determine coupling loss matrices and co-site interference.
