As the Data Strategy Lead at Merck Healthcare KGaA, he spearheads clinical and digital innovation strategies. His expertise in data governance has driven key initiatives at Novartis and Accenture, including the establishment of digital transformation frameworks at Novartis. During his fellowship at the World Economic Forum, he led the Global Supply Resilience Initiative with UNICEF, enhancing supply chain visibility in West Africa to improve access to food and medicine.

Gernot Weber is the Head of Data Strategy & Digital Innovation as part of Global Development Operations at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt. In this role he is innovating clinical trials by unleashing the power of data and digital. Prior to this position, he was part of an organization bringing Data Science & AI to the Global Drug Development at Novartis. Before pharma, he has worked as an engineer in gas turbine development and as a solution architect across different industries. Gernot is a particle physicist by training and has worked as a researcher at the CERN, Switzerland and Fermilab, USA during his PhD.
