NVH Refinement for Electric Vehicles

Fri, 18 October 2019 | 11 AM

Replacement of a traditional combustion engines with an electric powertrain, bring electro-mechanical induced tonal and high frequency whine noise. In addition, tire and aerodynamic turbulent noise becomes more prominent in the absence of a standard Internal Combustion Engine. Also, the perceived sound quality imposes new set of challenges. This leads to completely new methods of NVH refinement, keeping the decades of research aside. As it is important to address these issues at the design and development stage, adopting the new simulation techniques to manage future NVH challenges in e-Mobility is of prime challenge to the traditional NVH engineers. In this webinar, we shall discuss some of those key NVH challenges specific to electric vehicles and appropriate simulation processes to develop counter measures.

Why should you attend?

  • Understanding the motor, wind, road and other auxiliary noise sources contribution towards the Electric Vehicle's interior noise levels.
  • E-Motor design from NVH perspective.
  • Interior noise simulation for Road-induced vibrations, Turbulence induced noise etc.
  • Perceived Sound Quality improvement through Squeak and Rattle events predictions
  • Experience Altair’s advanced offerings for E-NVH refinement

Who should attend?

  • NVH refinement engineers (both Test & CAE) involved in the design or development of electrified vehicles.
  • Individuals responsible for development of component design in electric motor, transmissions, suspension and Trims will find this helpful.
