'Memory' in the Middle This presentation will shed a light on the processes via which ‘memories’ determine the predictive patterns in a system and demonstrate that they are not clearly defined or understood. It will show in a generic sense, that a measurable extent of policy failure in a socio-economic-financial setting is due to the unaccountability of the real effects of memory. Using an example of a system of high-frequency time series data in finance, Professor Mishra will demonstrate how one can significantly improve predictive power by accommodating the correct features of memory in the system.
