Dr. Joseph Flynn

Senior Specialist - Simulation & Design Development


Dr. Joseph M. Flynn was one of the original co-founders of Gen3D Ltd., which was acquired by Altair in 2022. He was also an Associate Professor at the University of Bath in the UK, researching computational design and additive manufacturing. Since joining Altair as a Senior Specialist, Joseph's R&D focuses on the geometry that underpins Implicit Modelling. He also advises on the technology roadmap for Inspire Implicit modelling, identifying future product features and new workflows that will address customer needs.

Darren Chilton

Director, Program Management -Simulation & Design Development


Darren Chilton is a director of program management and design technologies at Altair. In his current position, Chilton applies his passion for industrial design to drive strategies and direction in the development of CAID software. Chilton specializes in design processes, techniques and technology that impact product design. Prior to his current role, he was the studio lead for transportation design for Altair. Chilton earned his degree in industrial design / transportation design from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.

John Dimitriou

VP, Hardware and Graphics Porting Group


John has been with Altair for 19.5 years and is responsible for the vision, direction and technologies of the graphics rendering engines across all Altair products. He helps create compatibility, best practices, and proper utilization of GPU hardware within Altair applications to obtain benefits in the forms of performance and visual fidelity. He is also responsible for cutting edge graphics technologies outside of Altair’s normal rendering modes, like Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality within Altair application workflows. This allows Altair applications to lead in today’s demanding graphics needs within the CAD/CAE workplace environments across all simulation and design driven workflows.
