Altair SimSolid®: Fast and Accurate Meshless Structural Simulation for Large Assemblies
Altair SimSolid® introduces a new technology that simulates structures without the need for finite element mesh generation. Structural simulation is prepared directly on the CAD geometry without geometric simplification—enabling users of all skill levels to perform analyses in seconds instead of hours.
Supporting virtually all types of analyses demanded by the industry, SimSolid is the ideal software to assist in decision-making and validation throughout the product development process.

Introduction to Altair® SimSolid®
The training will cover the key features of Altair SimSolid, enabling users to perform linear analyses with a focus on:
- Processing geometry and connections;
- Applying different loads and boundary conditions;
- Configuring modal and linear analyses;
- Obtaining simulation results in minutes or seconds.
Advanced Topics of Altair® SimSolid®
The advanced SimSolid training is the ideal opportunity for you to perform structural analyses, focusing on three topics:
- Nonlinear Analysis, addressing material, contact, and geometric nonlinearity.
- Dynamic Analysis, where you will learn to create complex models and perform dynamic simulations to evaluate structural response to dynamic loads.
- Fatigue Analysis, evaluating designs' fatigue resistance to ensure the structures' lifespan and reliability.
Theoretical Foundations of SimSolid, by Victor Apanovitch
SimSolid's computational engineering is based on the extension of the theory of external approximations. External approximations are a generalization of the Finite Element Method (FEM) in that:
- Absolutely arbitrary geometric shapes can be used as "finite elements."
- The basis functions that approximate the field of interest in the "element" can be an arbitrary class and are independent of the shape of the "element."
