Smart connected product development is redefining academic curriculum

Thursday, May 27, 2021 10:00 a.m. SGT | 12.00 p.m. AEST

“Smart, connected products require a rethinking of design. At the most basic level, product development shifts from largely mechanical engineering to true engineering - Harvard Business Review

True engineering entails convergence of technologies, domains, and faculties, and rather is at the centre of all product development revolution today.

It is therefore incumbent on academia to set the agenda, and define curriculum, which best supports the industry requirements – the rigour of multi-disciplinary thought and flexibility of adapting to and adopting fast changing technology – while meeting strict budgetary norms.

This webinar introduces you to how progressive companies at the forefront of innovation are undertaking smart product development using Altair’s platform, and how Universities / academic institutions are adopting the same platform for redefining and modernising their curriculum to best fit the industry needs - apart from a good vista to undertake research projects, increase published research papers, and even IP creation.

.

Agenda

  1. Smart product development – the new paradigm

  2. Component technologies that enable smart product development platform – convergence of multiple technologies to facilitate True Engineering

  3. Altair’s academic program for easy adoption of technology, and collaboration opportunities

  4. Guest Speaker – How a leading university successfully introduced campus vide technology platform and curriculum, improved research opportunities, while optimizing investments
