5B : STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF PCBs IN ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS USING SIMLAB & OPTISTRUCT

THURSDAY, Aug 31, 2023 | 04:00-04:30 pm

Join us for a comprehensive demonstration as we explore the efficient analysis of PCBs using Altair's SimLab as the preprocessor and OptiStruct as the solver.

In this overview demo, we will cover key topics such as the seamless import and effective model management of ECAD data for PCB components. With a focus on Normal Modes, Random Response, and Warpage analysis, we will highlight the essential steps involved in setting up the solution with appropriate boundary conditions, solving the analysis, and postprocessing the results. Discover how Altair's SimLab and OptiStruct empower engineers to gain valuable insights into PCB behavior within a short timeframe.

6A : GEOMETRY – CREATION, EDITING AND CLEANUP TOOLS

WEDNESDAY, Sep 6, 2023 | 04 :00-04:30 pm

CAE project starts with the import of a given CAD data or file. While data importing generally occurs with little error, some issues can take place, and as such, HyperWorks has a wide variety of tools to remedy these geometric issues

Key take away’s: HyperWorks' scope includes advanced Midsurface generation with intuitive Editing tools. It also enables Geometry modification quickly and intuitively.

6B : SQUEAK AND RATTLE SIMULATIONS USING OPTISTRUCT

THURSDAY, Sep 7 , 4.00 - 4.30 pm

Experiencing issues like squeaks and rattles in products can notably diminish the perceived product quality, which in turn can result in customer discontentment and an increase in warranty claims. This prompts the need to offer valuable insights into the methods and strategies for accurately foreseeing, scrutinizing, and rectifying squeak and rattle problems within product designs

By leveraging Altair Squeal & Rattle Director, professionals gain the ability to accurately simulate and predict potential problems, allowing for early design adjustments.

7A: PART BROWSER, REPRESENTATION, LIBRARY, PART HIERARCHY AND INSTANCES IN HYPERMESH

WEDNESDAY, Sep 13th , 2023 | 04:00-04:30 pm

Use the Part Browser to create, organize and manage the CAE part structure/hierarchy. The browser opens in its own tab in the tab sidebar. You can undock the browser so that it appears as a free-floating dialog. You can undo and redo actions made in the Part Browser using the Undo and Redo commands on the toolbar.
A part is an engineering representation of a physical part, and a part assembly is a group of part assemblies and/or parts. Part Instances, which are recognized from PDM, are automatically converted to Part Instances on import into HyperMesh.

7B : USING MATERIAL DATABASE AND MATERIAL MODELER IN STRUCTURAL SIMULATION - AMDC/AMM

THURSDAY, Sep 14th , 2023 | 04:00-04:30 pm

The development of sustainable, efficient, minimum weight designs requires accurate multi domain material properties. Material Data Center enables designers, engineers, and scientists to browse, search, and compare materials in a standalone application or through the interface of their simulation and optimization tools.

Direct access to accurate solver ready data through a common user experience enables designers and engineers to make faster, more informed material decisions.

8A : GENERATE QUALITY 2D MESH USING DIRECT MIDMESH APPROACH

WEDNESDAY, Sep 20, 2023 | 04:00-04:30 pm

Leverage the concept of Direct Midmesh which over passes traditional methods that rely on complicated workflows and intricate meshing steps. The Direct Midmesh approach constructs a high-quality mesh from a given input domain. The Direct Midmesh approach offers a promising solution for generating high-quality 2D meshes for Plastic & casting parts. Also with its advanced Repair, Edit & inspect tools any user can optimize the Topology and it produces meshes that exhibit improved element quality, regularity, and connectivity.

8B : BATTERY DROP/IMPACT SIMULATION IN OPTISTRUCT EXPLICIT

THURSDAY, Sep 21, 2023 | 04:00-04:30 pm

This simulation is of an accidental drop. The most common failure mode of battery is the impact, due to an accidental drop. So, the manufacturers aim to develop products that are impact-resistant and can survive the drop test from a specific height.
The FEA simulation will help designers understand how components interact in the assembly and how the failure mode and mechanism are developed under the impact loading. Understanding impact strength is an important consideration to ensure an adequate service life for such portable products.
