Reducing Aerodynamic Drag on our Solar Car | Brunel Solar

The Brunel Solar Car team used Altair FlightStream to run thousands of aerodynamic simulations, accelerating development and enhancing vehicle performance. This approach enabled rapid design refinement and contributed to winning first place at the 2025 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. The presentation will showcase these achievements with a live demo of FlightStream using the team's solar car model.

Quadcopters - From System Modeling to Real-Time Simulator

Quadcopters: From System Modeling to Real-Time Simulator | University of Michigan

This project attempts to build an accurate real-time (RT) drone simulator through the full integration of a 1D functional model of a drone created in Altair Activate®, along with its corresponding geometry, into Unreal Engine via the Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) standard. This task was accomplished by modifying the Altair RT Vehicle Package, making it able to handle any system model located in an FMI for co-simulation, in this case, a quadcopter model.

Designing Prototype Off-World Mobility Systems for NASA's Lunabotics Challenge | Michigan Tech Astro Huskies

The session shows the evolution of the Astro-Huskies' mobility mobility system using Altair Inspire for optimization and analysis. Inspire was key to transitioning from a skid-steer system to a four-wheel steer system. It enabled the team to meet mass requirements while transitioning to the more capable four-wheel steer system by aiding in the design of strong, stiff, and lightweight components.
